Ceramic Tiles

I love to visit Mexico. The climate, people,sights, sounds and colors are always calling me back. On the past two visits I ran across two artists that painted Mexican beach scenes on ceramic tiles...with their fingers. Both would accentuate or add finishing touches with small brushes, but ninety percent of their work was done...literally...by hand. Their art work was not only vibrant and beautiful, but watching them fingerpainting with oil paints looked to me to be one heck of a lot of fun. I have been practicing this technique on and off for about two years now, and have created a few oil paintings that I am happy enough with to share with you. The size of the tiles are 9x12 inches and can be hung or displayed as is as I create a framed piece on the tile, or they also look wonderful in a frame giving the appearance that the art work is matted.
