I recently visited beautiful Mexico, and while there met an artist who oil painted ceramic tiles mostly with his fingertips, using brushes and a knife only for fine detail. It was truly amazing watching this artist glide his hands over these tiles and create some gorgeous creations...every 20 minutes or so. You read that right! Of course he has been finger painting for over 10 years but his touch and speed were unbelievable. ANYWAY... I had to try it, so I immediately went out and bought 50 tiles and went to work. The photos to the right are numbers 3 and 4 with #1 given to GRASP...an advocacy organization serving individuals on the autism spectrum...which was auctioned at an awards event. I have a lot of fun painting these tiles and eventually may get my time down to somewhere near "mi amigos ahora"(my friends time)...but that may be awhile.
